Medical Administrator
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Medical Administrator to join our close-knit team at Talybont Surgery on a full time basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice by managing patient records, coding, and administrative tasks. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. As a Medical Administrator, you will be responsible for read coding, summarising medical records, scanning documents, allocating results, preparing private letters, and providing reception cover when needed. Your contribution will be vital in supporting our clinical team and enhancing patient care.
Responsibilities
- summarise medical records
- scan, file and code patient letters while recognising when clinical input is required
- Download and allocate patient results
- Complete task actions in a timely manner
- Assist in the completion of non-NHS letters and forms
- Run searches
- Assist in the planning of the appointment diary
- Process medication requests
- Make and receive calls with patients, staff and third parties in a friendly, helpful manner
- Assist with sending referrals
- Provide receptionist cover when required
Requirements
- Experience within a GP practice, ideally read coding and scanning, is desirable but not essential
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a varied role
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
